Stubborn Bass loves to support the community.
When we started Stubborn Bass, it was initially to honor Great Pyrenees and blog about Bass and Merrick, our rescue GP's.
Then we realized it wasn't enough just to save the life of Bass and Merrick. We started looking for different ways to help other dogs who we couldn't welcome into our home (mainly due to size restrictions and the fact that Merrick is a diva). But what to do....
We bought a freeze dryer in 2021 and decided to make candy as a way to earn extra money. We sell freeze dried skittles mostly to our neighbors and by word of mouth.
Initially we thought if we could just earn enough to pay for the freeze dryer, we'd break even and be able to justify such a big expense. But then, something crazy happened. We started thinking of a name for the freeze dried candy shop...because, well, we don't do anything half way. (Honestly, we wanted cute little labels and the like.) After many a morning of begging Bass to stand up and stop laying in some stranger's yard...and we mean begging and pleading (and then finally having to go over and pick him up), we decided the best possible name for anything would be Stubborn Bass.
Our dream was (and still is) to sell enough freeze dried candy that we actually make a profit...and then to use those profits to help other animals in need and support businesses that help others. That's a slow process but to date our friends have bought enough that we've donated a little money (and a lot of freeze-dried skittles) to various businesses nearby.
Stubborn Bass is happy to report that we support our community. We will also use some of our space to highlight organizations that are doing good work to help animals and people. We're pretty dog focused, but we want you to know we'll support or highlight ANY organization that is doing good work for the community! Just drop us a line if you want to be highlighted on our page. In addition, E-mail us if you're doing a fundraiser or event that we may be able to support.

Stubborn Bass participated in GPRS's December 2021 fundraiser and put two ornaments on their virtual tree.
Miscellaneous
We get a ton of goods at our home for both Stubborn Bass and the family. When we're lucky enough to catch a driver in the act, we toss out bags of freeze-dried candy. We've even had drivers go past the house and scream, "Thank you!!!" At our new house, if you make a delivery, or repair, it's likely you left with a bag of goodies! Thank you for helping us make our lives better!
